RGS Decorators Ltd applies a mist coat (spray mist) to ceilings and walls prior to decoration to ensure optimal paint adhesion and a smooth finish.
While plasterers typically seal dry-lined boards to prevent emulsion peeling, RGS Decorators also offers this sealing service as part of our comprehensive preparation process.

We deliver a high-quality finish to ceilings and walls, expertly addressing any defects such as nail pops, minor holes, and other issues a skilled painter can resolve within the project timeframe. Our work includes sharp, crisp corners after precise cutting-in and the application of two coats of emulsion for a smooth, durable finish.

The Doors, Architrave, Balustrades and Handrails
Balustrades, Handrails & Finishing Details
We take meticulous care with balustrades and handrails, beginning with thorough surface preparation. After rubbing down and prepping, we hoover the area to remove all dust and debris. Handrails are then carefully masked before any painting or varnishing to guarantee a flawless, professional finish.
Our team ensures perfectly smooth edges without any paint runs by carefully refining sharp corners on window boards, doors, stairs, architraves, and balustrades—resulting in a clean, polished look.
For doors and frames, we consistently apply three coats when using oil-based finishes, sanding between each coat to achieve a smooth, bright surface. We also pay close attention to the tops of doors and frames, ensuring full compliance with fire door inspection codes.

All exterior surfaces receive three coats of carefully selected paint designed for durability and performance in the relevant weather conditions.
Fittings and Fixtures
Where possible, all metal fittings and fixtures are removed to keep them clean and free from paint, ensuring a neat finish when reinstalled after decorating. If removal isn’t feasible, high-quality masking tape is applied to protect these areas during painting.
Painted Metals
All painted metal surfaces are treated with the appropriate specialized paints to ensure lasting protection and a flawless finish.

After completing each project, our Director personally inspects the property to ensure the highest standards have been met.
We are committed to sustainability and minimizing waste. Whenever possible, leftover paints are collected and donated to charities supporting “Leaving Care Teams,” helping young people transition to adulthood and independent living. If donation isn’t feasible, we strictly follow our clients’ and company standards by carefully tracking paint usage to maximize full use and reduce waste.

All plots are returned clean and tidy once painting is complete.

Customer care, CML, and Handovers
Remedial & Customer Care Team
RGS Decorators Ltd has a dedicated team of remedial and snagging specialists ready to support CML, customer care, and handovers. Our staff approach every job with professionalism—using dust sheets, respecting customers’ home environments, maintaining politeness, and arriving in clean, appropriate attire.
To ensure smooth service, we generally require 3 days’ notice for any extra chargeable work, confirmed by an email from the managers. However, we have also been known to accommodate short-notice emergency requests when possible.
For customer care tasks, we ask for 5 days’ notice to arrange a personalised approach. Our managers will communicate directly with customers to provide detailed information about the task, helping to build trust and ensure a positive experience for both clients and tradespeople.

On Site Responsibilities
On-Site Protocol
Upon arrival, our team members sign in and out, wear the appropriate PPE, and carry all necessary documentation to complete their site induction. They strictly adhere to the client’s service agreements at all times.
Our staff arrive fully equipped with the required tools and paints to complete their tasks efficiently. Additionally, all team members have reviewed our Company Policy.
